Spring Skiing in January

Every year we seem to get a thaw in January and have come to start referring to this period as ‘Juneuary’. Sunscreen, t-shirts, and corn skiing seem like items for the month of March and April, but with temperatures hitting the mid 50′s locally, ‘spring’ skiing is in full effect. Squaw Valley has upped the ante this season with their attention to detail and it is showing in the quality of grooming. Get out on the mountain early and you’ll have the place to yourself with perfectly groomed north slopes for carving. When the sun starts to warm the south slopes, move into the sun for some spring skiing!
